An optimistic look at Detroit with Johnny Knoxville

There is so much negativity in the media about Detroit, that I found this documentary very encouraging and insightful. Johnny Knoxville of Jackass fame, decided to look for the good that is going on in Detroit and those trying to renew this once great city.

This video also makes me think about the role of the church in Detroit. When the wealthy left Detroit did the churches flea to the suburbs? When it comes to renewing the city, doesn’t the gospel call us to be on the forefront, not the tail-end? While this video shows artists and a younger generation leading the way to fight for Detroit, where is the church, where is the message of total renew and the showing of what that means to the people from the community of God?
