I recommend subscribing to his blog Leadership From The Heart.
His most recent post discusses some of the “terrible toos” that can hinder a leader.
Here’s an excerpt:
Last week, at one of my leadership “Weekends with Dave Kraft,” I had a conversation with one of the pastors and he was lamenting over the difficulty of finding people to step up, get in the game, and use their God-given gifts.
He’s often heard the “Terrible Toos” litany:
I’m too tired
I’m too busy
I’m too old
I’m too young
I’m too afraid
I’m too inexperienced
I’m too biblically illiterate
I’m too lazy (you won’t hear anybody actually say this, but it belongs on the list)
You can add a few of your own from personal experience.
Excuses, excuses, excuses. Maybe there is just one “Too”…I am too uncommitted to what’s on God’s heart. Every Christian is ordained to the ministry where they work & live. We should want to serve in the church and in the world in light of God’s love and sacrifice for us.
