Fall in New Mexico always meant a few things for me as a kid. It meant the State Fair which always included a big turkey leg to eat and fun carnival games to play. The Fair always came right before the Balloon Fiesta. The sky would be filled with hot air balloons including many special shapes that were always a favorite for me, especially the “Tony the Tiger” Balloon. So each year when the Balloon Fiesta comes it means a bit more than just cool scenery but for this lifetime New Mexican it brings back good memories and exciting possibilities of what my kids will remember when it comes to fall in New Mexico.
Enjoy this time lapse from this year’s Balloon Fiesta.
